The abrasive NWF consists of a "non-woven fabric" support in nylon sprayed or uniformly bonded with abrasive granules of aluminium oxide or silicon carbide, through the binding action of synthetic resins.
The components of the abrasive NWF have been studied to obtain a range of products to solve the problems of the different surface treatments.
With the abrasive NWF we have a constant cutting power, a long life, possibility of automation and time saving.
Thanks to its three-dimensional structure, the abrasive NWF is used for micro-deburring, sanding, finishing of wooden profiles, satin-finish of steel or metal (aluminium, brass, etc.), cleaning of copper and printed circuits, sanding of wooden panels and MDF, marble processing and
hard stones, ceramics, leather, etc.
Aluminium oxide consists of tenacious, wear-resistant crystals with granular conchoidal fracture with sharp edges.
Compared to silicon carbide, it has less cutting power but is more durable and long lasting.
It is used when high processing speeds are required, and its working efficiency is increased by using open fibre structure. Given its characteristics, it is more suitable for sanding raw wood and for satin-finish soft metals.
Silicon carbide consists of crystals with very irregular vitreous nature with very sharp edges. It is very hard and fragile; it breaks during work, always presenting new cutting edges and allows a strong removal of material avoiding clogging problems. Given the specific shape of the abrasive grain, silicon carbide minerals are used when the unitary stresses are not very high and mainly in the buffing of paints, in the satin-finish of hard metals and in ceramic processing.
